As a final project for his college diploma, Hipstamatic photographer Joe Morrissey clocks a full 24 hours awake to explore the social aspects of iphoneography, a movement that has influenced the way we create images

The idea behind my final project was to combine the social, documentary, and aesthetic aspects of iphoneography into one, easily viewable piece.

To do this, I used 2 Hipstamatic combinations — one for color and one for black & white (James/Blanko Noir and Jane/blackeys supergrain, respectively) to capture the life of a city for one, full 24-hour day.

I live in England, and I chose to photograph London as it’s the cultural center of the country, giving an interesting view of life over 24 hours. Beginning at 8 a.m. and going to 7 a.m. the following day, I took one shot each hour, on the hour, without fail, to capture each photo.

The project has shown me that Hipstamatic’s versatility and connection to the social elements of iphoneography and photography as a whole. -jm obsessed
