“We didn’t start Hipstamatic to replace film. We started it because we were cheap and lazy. Polaroid had stopped making film, everything else cost a fortune, and we never had the right camera with us. But the phone was always in our pocket. So we made it all the cameras for when we had no cameras.”

About Hipstamatic

Hipstamatic ignited the square photo filter revolution in 2009, and continues to produce fine analog-inspired camera apps nearly 20 years later. Helmed by a pair of midwestern blokes who traded in their pitchforks for Wacom tablets and PowerBooks in the early aughts, it remains a small independent design-first business. The Hipstamatic photographer community fuels our continued mission to inspire people to take more photos, worry less about tweaking sliders, and live in the moment.
