Western Malaysia

Malaysia Is a Mix of Everything You Think You Know About South East Asia.
Through the years, this part of the world has revealed paradise after paradise for anyone looking for big smiles, white beaches and easy-going mysticism.
Photo Story by Lasse William Nielsen MALAYSIA IS that and SO much more. The images are from the western part of the dazzling, mystifying and intoxicating country. From the busy streets of Kuala Lumpur, the Clan Jetties of Georgetown, Penang and the luxurious hotels and sticky jungles of the island Langkawi.
The beautiful nature speaks for itself. Complete with still clean white beaches and endless mountains and jungle. The word Malaysia allegedly derives from the ancient Sanskrit word Malaiur or Malayadvipa, which translates into “A land of mountains.”
One will find a fascinating diversity and multiculturalism, with big groups of both Chinese and Indians, beside the local Malay and a number of smaller ethnic groups. This has made Malaysia home to hundreds of different festivities and traditions tied to the different ethnic groups which has also made the country a gastronomical paradise. The spiciness of the cuisine and the freshness of the mango juice is worth the entire trip in itself.
The mystique of black magic flourishes amongst the Orang Asli tribes deep in the Malaysian jungles, if one dares to go there. And even in the hectic, progressive and rapidly growing capital Kuala Lumpur, spaces of the laid back and smiley ways still find their way. Malaysia is the intangible sense of true Asia.
