Yakkity Yak, Don’t Talk Back

Page 48 of Snap No. 5

We’ve all encountered “airplane talkers” one too many times in our lives

I travel quite A BIT FOR WORK, and literally clock more hours on the Virgin America SFO to JFK flight than I do on public transit. This means I’ve pretty much had every type of “Airplane Talker” you can imagine. And let’s be real, the only time anyone ever wants “a talker” is if he (or she for the fellas!) is hot. And that’s rare (However, thank you Virgin America for skewing more attractive than Delta).

But my goodness, there is nothing worse than being on a plane for hours with someone who has zero social skills. Get out the work laptop? Check. Keep answers as short as possible? Check. Put on headphones? Check.

Pretend I’m sleeping? Check! Ignoring the universal “shut the hell up” signs is never okay, unless you look like James Franco and have Stephen Colbert’s personality (and if that’s the case, no way in hell am I pretending to sleep). —ms
