The film that was 12 years in the making is making waves in the independent film scene. The story makes you question whether art imitates life or life imitates art as you wonder when Ellar Coltrain, who plays the lead, Mason is acting or just growing up in front of you. What could have been a documentary is one of the most intrigueing pieces of story telling by director Richard Linklater. With so many patterns seen in the course of the years you start to wonder how it will effect the family throughout the years and makes you realize that there is no end in life... it just continues to happen. This is a must-see film if only to experience the incredible feat of keeping the same cast over 12 years. -me
