Here’s how to prepare a drink that will warm up your innards with a taste of the south.

The fixings

brown sugar cube 2 dashes angostura dash peychauds 1/2 oz cognac 2 oz rye 1. Place brown sugar cube in mixing glass. 2. Apply 2 dashes Peychauds and 2 dashes angostura. 3. Mash brown cube with muddler until sugar has liquified. 4. Add 1/2 ounces cognac (we like St Remy)

5. Add 2 ounces rye (we like Bulleit Rye) 6. Add ice; stir with bar spoon until ice is partially dissolved. 7. Fine strain contents into an old-fashioned glass. 8. Run a flamed orange peel over the cocktail glass for aromatics and as the final garnish.
