Copenhagen, Denmark

Jetsetting to scandinavia had been on my bucket list for years. I’d been told that I would enjoy the “edge” that copenhagen provided — the culture, food, and people-watching. and it’s true, the city did not disappoint!
Biking my way around the city, I skipped around to incredible coffee shops, particularly Granola in the small town of Frederiksberg, and ate at some amazing restaurants. One of my favorite meals ever was at Pâté Pâté, a tapas-style restaurant in the Meat Packing area (you must try the ox heart carpaccio). From these experiences alone, I was sold on the city. Sipping at the great craft cocktails bars like Salon 39, The Union, Ourselves Alone, Umami, and the Barking Dog (so, I like to drink...) made every evening more interesting.
Then there’s the community of Christiania, a micro-utopian town sheltered from the rest of the European Union. It felt like a forested Amsterdam.
I was even able to tap into my inner child and spend a day riding the roller coasters of Tavoli, the region’s oldest amusement park located in the center of the city. The park, and the city, left me with a quote by the great Hans Christian Anderson, “Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale.” –me
