Elitist Restaurants

When I hear elitist, I don’t think of presidential candidates— I think of every restaurant in my city that leaves me starving after I paid the bill

for all the elite, fine dining in San Francisco, my 26-year-old writer budget has only allowed me to visit two or three of them— last week was one such occassion.

Gorgeous plating aside, I’ve received more food in a Costco sample cup. My chicken entrée could actually fit into the palm of my hand. I imagine you’d start to get filled up if you opted for the seven-course meal, but I had assumed that was like the penthouse suite at hotels—a luxury.

In the end, I ate my peasant three-course appetizer of a meal with delight and satisfaction, and promptly came home for a bowl of cereal and my delectable DVR. —Danny Bracco
