Don’t let your cotton candy ‘do make a mess of you.

From lovely lilac to pale pink, pastel hair has been popping up all over place. Dyed and rocked correctly, we’ve got love for this funky, punk-inspired hairstyle. It adds a little edge without going overboard, and it’s a nice alternative to the ombre overload we’ve all been experiencing over the last year.

But this is one trend that can go from “yes!” to “yuck!” in a hot minute. To make sure you’re rockin this ‘do and it’s not rockin’ you, it’s got to be healthy, washed, and styled appropriately. If it’s stringy and looks like my hand is going to get stuck when I touch your hair, you’ve taken the term “cotton candy hair” too far. —ms
