This week’s Adventures In Hipstaland is a bit closer to home: Portland, Oregon! See the full set here, and read what Adrienne had to say about her city:

I have, for the most part, lived in Portland my whole life, but in the suburbs just inside the city limits. Growing up, I didn’t really experience much of Portland, so my real discovery of the city has been after coming back from college. If you know anything about Portland, you know the stereotypes; hipsters, hippies, environmentalists, vegans, bikes, coffee, organic food, bridges, rain, art, and just an overall uniqueness. This is all true, and the diversity of this city is what I love about it. We have skyscrapers, a river, gardens, forest trails, etc. The Willamette River divides us into the East Side, which is artsy, quirky, unique, and the West Side, which is chic, corporate, classy.

The city is so quirky that it can’t really be defined by anything except for its quirkiness. Walk anywhere, and you can always discover something surprising that you never noticed before. That is what I love to capture in my photographs. I love to find things that others just pass by, or to show the city in a different light than others see it in. I am always discovering new things in this city, so I want others to see the beauty that I am constantly finding in seemingly ordinary things. There are so many interesting things all around in this city. I find even the most inanimate parts to be full of life.

I have more Portland photos here.
