First Friday of 2024

We have some big announcements to make today.

First Fridays ⏵ Since we launched Oggl over ten years ago, we’ve been celebrating the Hipstamatic community every month with a new lens and film effect. This year, we’re going to continue that trend but with some changes. While we will continue to release new filters several times a year, the releases will happen as they are ready.

Photo Challenges ⏵ Starting in the next month, we’re introducing Photo Challenges to Hipstamatic. These will be communal photo-taking and sharing experiences, organized around themes and styles, and will give us all a chance to share our photographic eye with each other.

There will be a new section in the app to view and join challenges, and we’ll organize short weekend challenges as well as a primary month-long challenge that will begin each month on First Friday.

Club Benefits in Classic ⏵ Also coming in the first part of this year, we are adding support for using your Hipstamatic Camera Club Membership in the Classic app. This means members will be able to use either camera and still access the full catalog of lenses, films, and flashes provided by their membership.

RetroPak 2023 ⏵ Launching today for Classic Camera users is RetroPak 2023. This collection contains all the lenses, films, and flashes we released in 2023, for those of you who prefer to get them a la carte. Don’t forget: any gear purchased in Classic is available for use in both Hipstamatic camera apps!
