In the Eye of the Beholder

I love photography. I love that imagery can take us places. Some of those places are real, and some are imagined. Some places of those places are snippets from dreams, or memory.

If had to say what I long to create, is that place that falls in the grey area between what is real and what is imagined. It’s kind of spiritual belief that there is more than what we see at first glance. There are layers to reality, and more than one dimension. My phone and my iPad are my playground.

Hipstamatic provides me with that very first layer, it softens the hard edges of reality and begins to add some time and place to an otherwise one dimensional image. I still challenge myself with doing single images, but have great fun doing double or triple exposures. But going down the rabbit hole of blending and collaging is really good fun. It takes photography into the realm of illustration.
