Seattle, Washington

Seattle is A MULTI-dimensional city. With a history of introducing grunge music to the mainstream, its hard for the city to shake its edge appeal. People come to visit the Needle, check out the Fish Market next to the Sound, and dive into an original cup of Starbucks. But the overcast skies also hide the quaint little moments that make it clear why its inhabitants are in this affair.

A ferry trip left me at Vashon Island where, after a winding road, Kurt Timmermeister of Kurtwood Farms opened the doors to his dairy farm and invited us in for a hearty meal. The next day, a walk down a pier ended with lunch on a house boat. There, we sat in silence, musing over the sea planes that took off into the horizon. Later I found myself sourrounded by the blown glass art of Chihuly. It seemed like every few steps there was something magical to uncover in Seattle.
