#Konstanze Zeller Featuring Aleque Reid & Heath Calvert
Broadway stars & real life love birds, aleque Reid and heath Calvert, turn up the heat for this snap magazine fashion issue exclusive
Tell Us About Your Roles in the Broadway Runaway Hit, Nobody Loves You.
Heath: I played Byron, the host of the reality show Nobody Loves You. He’s a hybrid of Chris Harrison of The Bachelor and Jim Carrey. Aleque: I played Jenny, the romantic lead and production assistant on Nobody Love You. She dreams of being a filmmaker, but finds herself trapped in reality television where, to her surprise, she finds love with a contestant.
What’s Been Most Exciting About Being Part of Such a Successful Show?
H: It’s a rare blessing to put your stamp on a unique role in a brand new theater piece from it’s inception, to a well received run at such a prestigious theater company as Second Stage. Showing up to work with a pack of ace Broadway performers, is the icing on the cake.
A: Having the opportunity to collaborate with such a talented
cast and creative team at such a distinguished and celebrated theater company, and developing a character in an original piece was rad. Working with the love of my life wasn’t too shabby either.
Describe Your Personal Styles.
H: Modern classic with a rugged, metaphysical flair. A: Classic vintage, rock and roll ( inspired by Patti Smith), with simple, elegant, and timeless pieces. I love blending clothes and accessories from differing styles and periods. Also, really dig menswear items mixed with something really feminine and sexy.
What Are a Few Pieces from Your Wardrobes You Simply Can’t Live Without?
H: Vintage white t-shirts, classic American selvedge denim, and my WWII parka.
A: Black motorcycle boots (found in a vintage store on route 66), a good t-shirt or tank, vintage couture gowns.
Favorite Piece of Clothing You Can’t Wait to Rock for the Fall Months?
H: Vintage New York-made Schott leather cafe racer. A: Navy blue velvet Christian Dior men’s smoking jacket.
Sexiest Item to See Each Other Wearing?
H: My fiancé, Aleque, is sexy in everything she wears, but I love watching her work around the house in a pair of great old jeans and a rock t-shirt.
A: My love stole my answer regarding a classic tee and jeans while working around the house, but that’s because great minds think alike. We also bought him his wedding ensemble the other day, a vintage YSL suit, and he looked exceptionally sexy in it. Or maybe when he wears boxer briefs? Tough to narrow down.
What’s Next for You Two?
H: Planning our wedding, looking to open a menswear store in Savannah with my fiancé, getting my blog up, and developing a couple new theater pieces.
A: I start rehearsal for a play at Lincoln Center called Domesticated, starring the amazing Laurie Metcalf and wonderful Jeff Goldblum, being directed by one of my idols, Anna Shapiro. I’m over the moon excited. Also planning a wedding with the love of my life. Lovin’ and livin’.
