Stories Behind Hipstamatic Lenses

Our latest lens is inspired by the warmth of Brazil. From São Paulo’s people to the bustling neighborhood of Vila Madalena, Hipstamatic Creative Director Aravind Kaimal shares his creative vision.

what was the inspiration behind the lens? We’ve always been inspired by the kindness and beauty of Brazil’s people, and we’re fascinated with the country, from a cultural perspective. The arts, the lifestyle, the food...it’s all phenomenal and we wanted to create a lens that payed homage to such a cool place.

how do you decide on different looks? There’s no formula behind it, but it’s really important for us to remain authentic and focus on what we love — what we’re inspired by in the moment. Brazil, and specifically São Paulo, has been on our radar for a while.

what can we expect next from hipstamatic?
