Puerto vallarta—A city on the Western coast of Jalisco, Mexico, with incredible beaches, bars and babes...you know what I mean. Surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains, the culture is relaxed and charming and the food is killer. Here are a few ways to travel on a budget yet play like daddy’s paying.

How to Get in

Take a cab from the airport

Fly into pvr and I suggest staying in the Historic Center instead of the Hotel Zone. It helps in feeling like a local.

Where to stay

Rent a house

Las Casa de la Torre was an option that we found on Airbnb, a site that helps locate homes and rooms to rent.

Where to lay

Playa Los Muertos & Conchas Chinas

Playa Los Muertos is probably the most popular beach and located in the Old Town so its easy to get to from where you’re staying. There are hotels and restaurants that extend to the beach which makes for a very easy stay. Lay under the numerous umbrellas, enjoy a massage from one of the local vendors and sip on margaritas.

Conchas Chinas is a short cab ride out of the city. The natural pools are the real attraction here. Plan to stay a while, and pack a lunch. This secluded beach offers less vendors to help you when you get thirsty for a cold one.

What to do

Take a day cruise (earlier in the trip)

Nothing says vacation more than sailing around the bay with a drink in hand. Most tours are about $100 and include breakfast, unlimited drinks, lunch on shore, snorkeling and the opportunity to meet new friends for the rest of the trip.

Where to dine

Private Chef

While there are a number of great restaurants, nothing compares to the pampering of a private chef and bartender.

For about $50 USD we enjoyed 4 hours of snacks, appetizers, entrees and unlimited margaritas delivered to the house pool. Most Airbnb homes can provide you with local private chefs options.

Where to drink

Everywhere

You’re in mexico...anywhere you go is sure to be a good time. Salud!
