I’m Drawn to Finding and Expressing the

Tension that exists between things. Attraction, repulsion, reflection, echoes, space. Things at play. People in flux. In motion. Gesture, shapes, shadows and patterns. It could be a moment of humor that’s created in an instant by a random juxtaposition. Sometimes it’s a void or negative space. The relationship of colors. Alienation, alliances and alignment. Incongruences are inspiration. Man and machines. Nature and concrete. Bring it on!

For the most part I don’t seek my subjects – they seek me. The skate park at Venice Beach is an exception. I go there once or twice a week, drawn to the total self-belief and confidence of the folk who inhabit the zone.

I see Lennon, Einstein, and Jobs in these concrete travelers. Their awe-inspiring ability transcends the material world. Ever in search of

grace and perfection, they stretch the limits of human endeavor.

Recruiters and scouts in search of extraordinary individuals should hang out at the skate park. Harness that drive, redirect it, and watch miracles unfold.
