Page 52 of Snap No. 7Page 53 of Snap No. 7

This ancient civilization from southeastern Mexico has been the subject of worldwide attention for years. The Mayan culture was rich and mystic in many aspects, most notably, when it came to the cosmos.

They were advanced astronomers, perfectly calculating time to sow and harvest in order to live and render tribute to their Gods.

There was spiritual and philosophical meaning behind the construction of their temples and buildings, and they always had a strong respect for the environment and their surroundings. This photo essay was shot entirely with Hipstamatic. The app’s quality is unsurpassed, and it’s both versatile and fun to use. In each photo, you can see the rich textures, meaning and design of this culture’s spectacular history.
