Stories Behind Hipstamatic Lenses

Photographer Chiun-Kai Shih was the muse for one of our favorite fashion-inspired lenses—the Hipstamatic “Chunky” lens

Born in taiwan and raised in New York City, Chiun-Kai Shih (known to his friends as “Chunky”) has built a career creating distinctive photographs marked by a focus on story and persona. He is known for his energetic presence, his talent for collaboration, and his unflinching intuition—all reasons why we couldn’t wait to work with him on a lens for the Hipstamatic community.

Marked by cinematic tones and warm light leaks, the Chunky lens is a favorite in the fashion world and beyond. Grab it in the HipstaMart to recreate your own chic, fashion-inspired snaps!

Chiun-Kai’s editorial work has been featured in VOGUE, GQ, Details, Gotham, Harpers Bazaar China, The New Yorker, and VIBE Magazine, and he’s worked with celebrities and top models from around the world including Alicia Keys, Zachary Quinto, Selita Ebanks and Vivica Fox, to name a few. Don’t sleep on snatching up a lens inspired by this awesome talent. —ms
