Bico Stupakoff is no stranger to hot pictures. The Brazilian photographer’s steamy images have graced publications like Playboy, Glamour, GQ, Bazaar, and Vogue, and they’re now adding some sizzle to the pages of Snap. We sat down to talk photography, living in the moment, and tips

for getting the hottest Hipstamatic shots.

How do you think shooting with a phone differs from shooting with a traditional camera?

It is an amazing experience. I compare it to using an 8x10 camera: especially doing fashion, you don’t go shooting 1000 images to choose one. It’s a slower process. Since I work the image together with the models, it becomes less intrusive. The people being photographed always say, “Are you using an iPhone?” It breaks the ice and people relax much more.

What Do You Want People to Take Away from Your Photo-

Graphs?

I want them to see what I see or saw: the beauty of photography, capturing an image that was a moment you lived. It stays frozen for the rest of our lives...it’s a great feeling to share something you saw or lived.

What’s Your Go-to Trick for Capturing the Best Hipstamatic Shot?

When you get used to a set of lenses and filters, you just have to be aware of your environment. There are so many things around us that are interesting, and sometimes you can see the picture before you even take it.
