Day Crunk

Page 62 of Snap No. 2

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness...”.

Dickens was clearly talking about day drinking. He’d had a few too many Marys that morning, then sat down to pen the opening of A Tale of Two Cities while he was still half-blitzed. Because that’s what happens with day drinking: that bottomless bellini brunch seems peachy for a while, until it hits 5pm and you realize that’s not an appropriate bedtime. Or until you remember that a dinner date requires at least a modicum of mental agility. Those strawberry-lime-coconut-jalapeno margaritas have turned you into a stumbling, bumbling mess of a human, and there’s still a long night ahead of you.

Day drinking encompasses the best and worst of... well, everything. You act like a total fool, feel like you’ve been steamrolled before it’s even dark out, but still have a grand old time. Every. Single. Time. —kc
