Ibiza, Santorini, Zakynthos

Christine_mignon Last year I had the pleasure to visit three Mediterranean islands with totally different characteristics. The Spanish island Ibiza is known as an island to party, have fun and meet tons of crazy creative people, night and day. Hippy-markets, fashion shows on the beach, drum rituals for sunset or a circus parade to promote on of the many clubs on the island — it’s all there!
santorini (Greece) was on top of my bucket list for many years, and it met all my expectations. The absolute highlight are the idyllic villages of Oia and Fira with it’s famous white and blue buildings. To walk the narrow alleys feels like being in Wonderland, until tons of people gather there for sunset like attending a rock concert.
one of my all time favorites is the Greek island Zakynthos (a.k.a. Zante) Island in the Ionian Sea. I’ve been there about twenty times, I stopped counting… The preserve area of Vasilikos provides white sandy beaches, the sea shows any palette of blue and turquoise, and with a bit of luck you can see baby turtles hatching from their eggs. It’s the place to relax, though you might have to put your clocks back for about 20 years! Don’t miss a boat trip to the Shipwreck Bay, the most famous postcard motif of Zante Island!
